The planned eastern "colony" Ostland, in the same timeline as the Germania map. Germanising placenames that had no earlier German names was a whole lot of fun. Hopefully they sound fairly good, too.
That is a very difficult question to answer due to many reasons. First of all, they were already resettled in Wartheland and West Prussia. Secondly, allowing them to return would make them keep their Baltic German identity instead of the Greater German identity which Hitler and the others wanted to impose. Spreading them out far from their original homes would assimilate them with the local German population and they would adopt a purely German identity. Thus I believe that while they may have been allowed to return, they would be discouraged to do so. Reichsdeutsche would instead take their place in the Baltics. Also, resettling the Baltic Germans AGAIN would be most inconvenient.
If you look closer at Nevanlinna you'll see that it is part of Finland, not Germany. That's why the name is in Finnish.
Yes, the North Sea is the German Sea here, but the name of the Baltic Sea has always been Eastern Sea in German because it is east of the core of Germany, so there would be no need in changing it. It is still the easternmost sea north of Germany.
But why did you call Petersburg Nevanlinna, Petersburg is already a german name^^
I think they would even rename the Ostsee, maybe Germanische See, because Deutsches Meer would be the Northsea.
But the map is so brilliant, awesome work!
